Is it worth remembering label of wine I liked at a restaurant?

This a wine newbie question. Sometimes if I like a wine we ordered at a restaurant, I note its label - type, year, name of winemaker etc. However, there seem to be 1,000s of wine 'labels' or brands. So I can never find the same label again at another restaurant?

So the question is, is it worth remembering the label of a wine I liked given that most restaurants have a very diverse wine list?

Do even people who are into wine recognize specific wines on a restaurants wine list? Or, do you simply go by, grape, region and vintage?

If you liked it enough, yes it is.

What I do is take a photo of both the front and back labels with my cell phone.

When you get to know more wines, you'll remember the wine, winemaker, region, country, and more information of your favorite wines.

If you really liked it and think that you would buy it to drink at home, then remember the brand. You can find almost any wine at bigger liquor stores. If you drink a lot of wine, you might recognize some of the wines at a restaurant. But, if you only drink wine at restaurants, then you should just find the grape or region that you like. Most restaurants have different choices.
