I recently found a bottle of Hennessy at home. I just wanted to know if it is expired or not because I think it's been there for almost 10 years. I wanted to bring it to a party. Thank you very much!!!

Hennessy Cognac is considered one of the more relevant brandies in the World. Cognac is a brandy made from the grapes grown in the Cognac Region of France, thus its' name.
Now to your question. Hennessy will never expire as long as the cork in the bottle is secure, not allowing any air to enter the bottle.
The longer you wait to open the bottle, the smoother the cognac will be to the pallet and the throat. The bottle you have should be ready to be uncorked and consumed.
Please drink it straight, do not ruin a fine Cognac by mixing it with any other substance. Itis besto drink the Cognac at room temperature. You may also find that you will enjoy its taste and aroma following a meal or your coffee.
Don't let the ten years throw you. It will be even better in another ten years.

I would like to make a comment on expiration date on beverages. I worked in the beverage industry in the late 70s and early 80s. The company that I worked for distributed pop and beer. Beer always had an expiration date because of the yeast and it, pop never had one. Pop was sold in glass bottles and aluminum cans. Before the mid-70s pop is not sold in plastic bottles. Then in 1973 they invented the Polyethylene Terephthalate bottle. Within a couple years the pop manufacturers started bottling pop in these bottles. Manufacturers found for some reason that the pop and plastic bottles would lose the taste after a couple years. So the concept of dating the plastic bottles started. Pop manufacturers found that dating the plastic pop bottles increased sales. The manufacturers decided that if it worked on the plastic bottles to increase sales it could also work on cans and of course glass bottle went to the wayside. I remember the day that the owner of the distribution warehouse threw a fit because now he would have to purchase it inventory different. In dating of the cans with simply a marketing ploy. At that point is far as anybody knew then and I don't believe till this day there is any proof that pop in cans truly expires. So plastic bottles do get old cans do not.
