It's traditional to have Scotch whisky and pour a dram into the haggis once it's sliced open.

Unless you want Robert Burns to come and haunt you and have the ghosts of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace ever present by your side for eternity the only thing to drink with haggis is a good Scotch Whisky (no e in whisky otherwise it is Irish) A blend is better than a malt and I recommend Famous Grouse a reasonably priced but excellent quality blend, the question of age etc depends on your own taste and depth of your pocket. Enjoy a good haggis in good company with good whisky is a great evening

A really robust red wine such as Barolo would be good. You need something full-bodied to go with the flavours in haggis. But the traditional thing to drink with haggis is whisky.

Sweetheart you don't have wine with Haggis. A pint of good Scottish beer is more acceptable.

However if you are entertaining someone who always drinks wine then a good full bodied red should hit the spot. How about a really tasty cotes du Rhone.

Traditional drink is Scotch Whiskey, but Warren Edwardes of Wine for Spice says that haggis is so spicy he recommends a semi-sparkling wine with increasing levels of sweetness depending on spiciness of the haggis. Whiskey (because of high level of alcohol) can exaggerate spice rather than compliment it.

I would go with a dry red wine most deffinately.

Personally I like a good italian merlot. Don't like the american merlots...they are just to oaky for me.

A cab would also be nice or even a shiraz

Although traditionaly a single malt scotch is the way to go. If you candle the haggis you can definately handle a good scotch.

I personaly can't stand either one of them. You either love ti or you dan't, and I don't!!

The best wine to have with haggis is the wine that has the most alcohol content. NOTHING goes with haggis !

If you can find it, a bottle of Clan Dew which is a mixture of blended whisky and white wine. Or Johny Walker Red label

Ha, ha, ha, ha what a brilliant question!

No wine, of course, just the finest golden dream water you can get. I absolutely love haggis. Are you piping it in - I hope so!

Something with a huge alcohol content so you get drunk quickly and not be able to taste the haggis.

Of course you should be having a stout ale. If you feel you must have wine, I would suggest a fine bottle of Thunderbird or Mad Dog 20/20.
