Question:
Why do you like beer?

I've only drank Pabst Blue Ribbon twice, and both times it tasted the same, not horrible, but I wouldn't drink it regularly, and I don't think I'm going to have it again. It doesn't really give me a buzz, and I'm not even a big drinker or anything; I guess if you're playing beer bong it would.

Why do people like beer - taste, buzz, what?

There are two reasons main reasons I believe.

Reason 1 is that you love the taste. It is an aquired taste kind of like coffee or wine. People who enjoy the taste of beer like to try new ones and appreciate the different types. They can pick out the different flavors in it like wine tasters.

Reason 2 is that you can drink it for a long period of time and not get falling down drunk. For example, if you are drinking during the day and don't wish to be passed out in a gutter by 9pm then you should probably stick to beer. Light beer is good for this because it doesn't make you feel full and bloated quite as much.

Oh wow I just read your first answer and it made me want to go cut myself. Lol.

Coors, Bud, Rolling Rock and Papst Blue Ribbon are all mild flavored beers (Papst is very cheap and has a nice dry flavor), Corona with lime & blue moon are citrus beers that go down easy. I got started on Killian's Irish Red. Really, try them all, beer comes in more variations than wine and they all have their own characters. If you want to try the Pepsi challenge, just for the hell of it, to tell how different they can be, line up a Bud, a Corona, a Sam Adams Ale, a Heineken and a Guinness the next time your at a bar. Bud is has a mild flavor and Guinness (to me) almost tastes like rich black coffee and it's just as Dark. Beer is an acquired taste for sure and some of them are absolutely horrid by any standard but once you get the first few down, they all taste good.

I like to drink beer for the taste, buzz, and the whatever. Not everything let alone every beer appeals to everybody. I hate spirits unless made to a drink because they are harsh and nasty even the top dollar ones. Try a few, and be warned there are some real strong and nastily bitter beers out there. To each there own and keep the buzz alive.

I feel I must point this out; beer is an acquired taste for many people. I didn't enjoy the taste of my first few beers but I soon started to really enjoy a beer's flavour, this very probably aided subconsciously by the associations of the euphoria that drinking brings, with the taste of beer.

Well its hard to say. I've got a beer right in front of me now.

It somewhat bitter. It doesn't taste sweet or really pleasant in any basic way... yet its fulfilling in a way I can't describe. Maybe because its older than most countries and a part of human history.

It doesn't really get me buzzed but its simply... good! And seriously... 95% of beers, no matter what people say, taste the same.

Part taste, part buzz. I don't like being drunk, so A (1) beer is good for me; maybe 2 if I'm eating. I strongly prefer more flavorful beers, though, than PBR. PBR is what I call a p iss beer. Nothing personal against you or anyone who loves it, it just does nothing for me flavorwise.
