How to say Dos Equis?

Question

Hi... I have a really stupid question. I just turned 21 and my friends and I are going out to the bar this weekend. My favorite beer is Dos Equis, but in all honesty I have no idea how to pronounce it properly and don't want the bartender to think I'm an idiot. So is it pronounced Dos Eck-wis or Dos Eck-ees? Any input is appreciated.

He probably thought Sgt.Crowley was more of an Ameriacn Beer kind of guy. Or maybe he was worried what an imported beer would look like in the media? But I'm with you Amigo.... Dos Equis, Corona, or a nice Asian Beer would have been good too. Who the hell knows... maybe they were all drinking Apple Juice. LOL.

That would be Dos Eck-ee, but more often said Dos Eck-ees. The bartender will understand either one. Welcome to the legal beer appreciation age. When you're ready to venture further into the world of beer, try heading to a brew pub or sample something from the craft/micro breweries. Some of the Chimay varieties, Samuel Smith beers, or a fruited ale called Lambic are my favorites to serve at parties. Stella Artois is a crisp, smooth beer, and goes well with many dishes if you like one with a meal. That being said, please enjoy within reason. I'm sure everyone around you wants you to be around for a long time to come. :)

I live in Mexico and speak a pretty good spanish. It's 'dose eckies.' It's not french and you don't drop the final consonants.
