Do You Like Sake Warm or Cold?

I never had sake before until recently. I know that traditionally it is served warm so I ordered it like that. When I tried it I felt like spitting it out.

Then I ordered the same brand cold and it tasted much better (to me) that way.

Maybe Americans aren't used to warm alcohol? I don't know...

I like it both ways. Try a hot buttered rum to see if you might like warm alcohol .

From experience, I drink higher quality sake slightly chilled and generic brands slightly warmed. This allows each product to be enjoyed at it's best. The warm one will give you a quicker buzz as it is absorbed into the system faster. But frankly, it depends more on the weather and the occasion than any other factors.

The lesser quality sakes are served warm. (junmai)

Ultra premium sakes are served cold (daiginjo)

Either way, I like it depending on the weather....
