Question:
Alcohol causing excess sweating?

Before I started drinking alcohol I almost never sweated and when I did, it was hardly at all. In the beginning I was just flushing after my first drink. Then after starting, maybe about 6 months later I would start to experience bad sweats after my first couple drinks. An annoying issue when hanging out with everyone else who was significantly drier than I, asking me if I'm okay. About a year later now, Ive noticed night sweating on days where I drink, and continuing a couple days after. Bad enough where I feel my clothes and bedding need to be changed. I start to sweat excessively and easily now after minimal exertion while not intoxicated but near the last time I drank, and within a couple days after. It drips down my face and body after less than a quarter mile walk or minimal work tasks. Very uncomfortable. I tremble when I go to hand items to people and I feel generally unwell. Do I have an alcohol intolerance? Should I just cut it out all together? My father and grandfather had MS and I'm afraid I may be progressing into MS. I'd say it's also effected my GI health. I have little appetite and have lost lots of weight. Sometimes I'll wake feeling like I have a flu. Is this the alcohol itself or is my body reacting bad for other more serious reasons?

Yeah, sweating, trembling, it means you need to cut back. I'm sure you're having vivid dreams, too, am I right?

Sweating is the body's way of cooling itself. So you would sweat out water AND some of the alcohol too. Ever taken a whiff of a person that drinks heavily, the next day? You can smell the alcohol.

FFS.   You've noticed that drinking is causing you discomfort and ill-health and yet you keep drinking.   Hello...

I had excessive sweating when I was a heavy drinker. I slowed down and once I drank again, the sweat would still pour down. I think my body rejects alcohol now. So, you can be experiencing alcohol intolerance as well.
